Meet our kindergarten team!

The Cartwright kindergarten team will focus on the beginning foundational skills of reading, mathematics and social development through meaningful hands-on experiences. We believe these skills are the building blocks of your student's educational journey. We are excited to help grow your child curiosity and love of learning. So, saddle up for a wonderful beginning with the Cartwright Colts!

1. How many years of experience do you have teaching or in the school system? I have 9 years of experience teaching in school systems. For 3 years I taught in Warner Robins, Georgia. For the past 6 years, I have been teaching kindergarten for Bedford County Schools.
2. What made you want to become a teacher or work in a school? I wanted to become a teacher because I loved learning new things and being at school with my friends. I wish to give the same excitement and love of learning to all my students.
3. About what are you most excited for working at Cartwright? What drew me to Cartwright was the idea of being a part of the team that started a new school from the ground up. Knowing that everything we do this first year, as a team, will set the expectation for the future. This new challenge is very exciting to me and I am ready to accept it head-on. I am also excited about the opportunity to work with a wonderful group of new teachers in the building.
4. Is there anything extra you would like to share? While attending Tennessee Tech University, I thought my dream job would have been teaching 4th grade ELA. After getting hired as a kindergarten teacher, I fell in love with their sweet souls and eagerness to learn new things. I have not looked back since!

2. What made you want to become a teacher or work in a school?

I love learning and being in the classroom environment! This career path has given me the unique opportunity to be a positive role model in someone’s life. When I think back on the influential people in my life, most of them were educators.

I am excited to be a part of something new and groundbreaking for our community. Cartwright is going to be a place of opportunity for teachers and students alike. We all get to be involved in helping cultivate a school culture and help begin a legacy that will be carried on with each passing year. It is exciting to think about and I honestly cannot wait!
